Saishu-heiki Kanojo

This anime is a most touching and moving story. The love story between two persons that is beyond any plain words is described to anime fans. However, this love is definitely different from other romances. Even if the girl character (Chise) seems to be an ordinary high-school girl, the war has transformed her into the ultimate weapon in the form of human. The story turns out to be very complicated and deep because of the remaining human part inside the body. Loneliness, sadness, depression and a lot of painful events that happened both to her and her acquaintances integrate into an amazing anime. This animation puts an emphasis on feelings beyond anything. The war inside the story is just raised only in parts essential for series continuation. Certainly, it is not that kind of anime that superheroes just fight and win. On the contrary, this series aim only at a tragical story of a girl (that became the ultimate weapon). (Never mind the reason that causes the war since this anime rarely pays attention.) Undoubtedly, it is also not the kind of stories that a girl and a boy hold their hands and get through many difficulties together. Both main characters in this series suffered hard through many tough situations even though their love began rapidly just in the first episode.

The characters may not be beautifully drawn, but they are obviously cute. The details of settings are reasonably good. The soundtrack and music are excellent, esp. for “Sayonara”. However, it is totally inappropriate for children since the story is too much and its emotional aspects are too complicated. In addition, adult relationship is involved (even if it is not hentai). For adult fans of love stories, this series is a must-see. Anyhow, it is recommended that only a few episodes be viewed at a time; otherwise, you might feel depressed all that day (well, it is from real experience).
