The fatal disease, called virus M-34, was a new epidemic threat to Japan. It caused a lot of turmoil in various areas and became uncontrollable. Before the application of Unit Ai, which utilizes Ai’s supernatural power, the Japanese government and military forces could only use nanotechnology to create fine virus-killing machines and fight back the virus. The nanomachines were injected into the blood veins and enabled the soldiers to transform into the NOA with a higher physical strength as well as higher ability to prevent the infection of the virus. However, the virus M-34 began to mutate and change into M-35, a merged form between the virus itself and nanomachines. After this occurred, nanotechnology became useless against the virus. Only Ai was hope of the nation.
Ai herself had been confined as a test subject for a long time. Her status of mind became weaker and weaker. With no hope in her life, she barely wanted to live. Even if her ability was the new weapon, she could not summon it in critical times. This was the reason that brought Yuugi to see her. With his friends injured and killed in a mission that Ai failed to summon her power, he could no longer control himself. He encountered her and blamed her failure as a new weapon. While talking with Ai, he was misunderstood by the guards to be a traitor who tried to kidnap the new weapon. As he saw Ai being afraid of being brought back by the guards, he brought Ai with him and fled away. As he stayed with her shortly, he learned that she was just a normal girl, who was very lonely inside and who unavoidably and sadly had to become the new weapon. With Ai saving his life once, he acknowledged her beautiful mind and finally felt compassionate for her fate.
However, Ai and he were finally separated. Ai’s power, which was essentially linked to her conditions of mind, could barely shine afterwards. As virus kept mutating and became a greater danger, Japan needed the full power of Ai as the only means to control the virus! How Yuugi and Ai struggled to grow their relationship, and whether the virus would be controlled or even eradicated are the questions that this SciFi story answers.
